COUNSELLING PSYCHOTHERAPY AND HYPNOTHERAPY IN NOTTINGHAM

Healing your past - Transforming your future

Psychotherapy in Nottingham

Hello, thanks for visiting my website.

Are you a professional, who on the outside is holding it all together but on the inside you feel like you are drowning?

Burnout isn't just a busy calendar - its the profound emotional exhaustion that come from a lifetime of "over-doing". Its the constant internal pressure to be perfect, the inability to say "no" without guilt, and the feeling that your value is entirely tied to your productivity.

If you were raised by a narcissistic or high-pressure family system, "doing" was likely your survival strategy.

You learned early on that to be safe was to be good, to be useful, and to be loved was to be perfect and not make mistakes.

Now, that survival strategy has become your biggest source of stress and overwhelm.

I help professionals heal the root of over-achievement linked to relational trauma

Supporting adult children of Narcissistic family dynamics

If you have experienced growing up with emotionally unavailable or narcissistic parents, then trauma therapy for narcissistic abuse recovery and emotional exhaustion will focus on helping you to process the feelings associated with these relationships and looking at ways to support you to establish strong boundaries, take control and rediscover your personal identity and a sense of self-compassion and self-worth.

Dealing with narcissistic parents can be difficult, but through counselling and psychotherapy, you can feel empowered to change your life.

I am a Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist based in Nottingham and online. I work with the "adult children of emotionally immature or narcissistic parents". These early developmental relationships shape who we become as adults and the emotional wounds experienced through misattuned parenting run deep. I want to support you to heal from difficult family dynamics, so you can become your true and authentic self. Therapy can help you to help these childhood emotional patterns so you can;

*Build confidence and a stronger sense of self

*Create healthier ways of relating to yourself and to others

*Banish self-doubt and feel safer and more emotionally secure

*Break free from guilt, people-pleasing, perfectionism and live more fully connected to yourself and your values

*Feel heard, validated and supported as you heal from these past wounds

I am here to support you with your recovery, or to manage the ongoing relationship with your narcissistic parent and to help you find the most effective way to continue the relationship, if you choose to do so.

If you are experiencing overwhelm and emotional exhaustion. I can support you to break the cycle of burnout by healing the roots of over-achievement and relational trauma.

If you are holding it all together on the outside while inside you feel you are drowning. I see you.

Burnout is rarely about a busy diary. It is the profound emotional exhaustion that comes from a lifetime of "over-doing".

It's the constant internal pressure to be perfect, the inability to say "no" without guilt, and the feeling that your value is entirely tied to your productivity.

It is often a symptomatic manifestation of long-standing relational patterns. For many high-achievers, chronic emotional exhaustion and compulsive over-functioning are rooted in "performance-based" identity structures - often developed within narcissistic or high-pressure family systems.

When your early environment necessitated perfectionism as a survival strategy, the result in adulthood is a nervous system that lacks a "rest" state. You may find yourself stuck in a cycle of hyper-vigilance and professional over-extension, unable to establish the boundaries necessary for sustainable health.

An Integrated Treatment Model

I provide a specialised approach to therapy. By combining Psychotherapy to untangle the "performance-based" self-worth of your past and identify the narcissistic trauma that drives imposter syndrome, with Hypnotherapy to provide an immediate nervous system reset to help with sleep, cognitive fog, and nervous system regulation

Developmental Trauma Therapy for Adult Children of Narcissists

For years now I have worked with the adult children of narcissistic and emotionally immature parents (ACoNs). Even if you are not experiencing burnout or over-whelm, you are likely here because you have experienced growing up within a narcissistic family system, which often results in a fractured sense of self, and an ingrained need to prioritize the needs of others at the expense of your own autonomy and desires.

In adulthood this developmental trauma can manifest as a constant struggle with boundaries, self esteem, and relationships.

Our work will focus on processing the grief of the "unmet" childhood needs and developing psychological resilience necessary to live a life defined by your own values rather than the expectations of others.

Utilising a integrated framework of Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy, we can work together to deconstruct those early "survival blueprints" on a deep and lasting level.

Psychotherapy and hypnotherapy can offer something transformative in a way that talking therapy alone can't. It can be your guiding light in healing from narcissistic abuse.

Take the first step in your healing journey today by seeking the support of a trauma-informed psychotherapist who specialises in narcissistic abuse recovery.

I look forward to supporting you in your healing.
